About Us
Jenny's Naturals is a homebased soap business located in Berks County, PA. Soap making started as a hobby for me, and later after being laid off from my full time job, I started selling my soaps on-line 2003. Thank you to all my customers for your patronage and supporting an American small business!
Our Soap
Our soaps are made the cold process method by hand, using vegetable oils and lye. We do not use animal tallow or lard in any of our formulas. Our soaps are gentle to skin and provide an exceptional lather even in hard or cold water. We believe in creating a natural soap using the finest ingredients. We start with a base of Olive, Coconut, and Palm oils for all of our soap formulas. Some soaps contain Shea Butter for it's exceptional moisturizing benefits. Our other specialty bars may contain ingredients such as Avocado Oil, Wheat Germ, Cocoa Butter, Buttermilk, etc.
We believe in scenting our soaps with pure essential oils and this is our personal preference. We do however, offer some soaps scented with cosmetic grade fragrance oils. These can be found only under the 'nearly natural' category from our home page.
Cold Process Soap vs. Commercial Bars
So, what's the difference? Well, after you try our natural soaps no explanation is needed! Most commercial soaps on the market today are not soap at all, rather, they are detergent bars. Cold process soaps retain the natural glycerin which is a by-product of soap making. This creates a gentle soap your skin will love! Some commerical companies remove the glycerin from soap and sell it separately since it's valuable on its own. And, some commerical bars out there contain chemical preservatives or additives which make bars harder or last longer. This creates a harsh bar that can leave your skin feeling dry.
Our soaps are practical and gentle enough for every day use. They provide an exceptional lather and are clean-rinsing. We believe you will notice a difference and may even find it hard to go back to store bought commercial soap again!
